Session 14 Reflections

I can't believe that it is the last week of class! All I know it has indeed been a fun and challenging semester for me. Hope to see my grade soon!

Few days left, just completed research paper. had fun creating social networking for fashion divas. found out about Les favorite trademark! Final Exam posted got to get started soonest. had discussion about teleworking issues . Had insights from the HIPAA in protecting the privacy of patients. discussion.

Session 13 Reflections

The mini project for the CIO job annoucement was interesting, and some students didn't like the fact that their posting was deleted using wiki. the mini project foe sesion 12 was kind of challenging for me at first especially using the cmap tool but after reading the help page I was able to understand how it all works and what symbols represent what. also learnt quite a few things about offahore outsourcing. Race is almost over, got lots to finish up, working on research paper and finalizing case study presentation

Reflections on Session 12

I feel so sorry for the tragedy of the Virginia Tech University and I pray that God would console the families and friends.

Liked the discussion about SDLC for web developers and would always suggest that approach even though not all developers follow the approach

Grandma arrived 2 days ago from Nigeria, had a terrible asthma/ mild heart attack overnight, was kinda scary. it's been a stressful week runing from work back home to the hospital, hope things get better.

Reflections on session 11

Learnt something new ! Fedscope, got to realize how it works and how useful it can be, also had some insightful discussion about the secret of success.

Learning ITIL at work, found ITIL training fun and a way to get out of the work environment, Our instructor was a joke cracker.

Crashed my hard drive, and lost all my data not very good, it's been quite a stressful week.

Session 10 Reflections

Had some interesting discussion about GPS technology, found some new ways GPS technology can be used. also learnt some other challenges of implementing data warehouses.

Finally got to have some fun chatting with Alice, she was so much fun to chat with even though she didn't understand some questions, she was pretty much good with most questions I asked her.

Reflections on Session 9

Had a wonderful spring break, visited families and friends in Nigeria and England. spent 4 days in Nigeria and 2 days in London. was quite a tiring flight to Nigeria. trying to get myself back to school and work mode. quite interesting discussion on teamwork and using wiki. found a great article on how new PC security recognizes one's face(logs the user on) just by sitting in front of the PC.

Reflections on Session 8

Yeah found the mini-project quite challenging, well hoping to expand my imagination! also read an article about how the FireScope management portal is using Google Maps to give IT managers a real-time view of their infrastructure, even if it's spread around the globe. Looking forward to my short trip to Nigeria and England

Had a great discussion on the Identity theft! Someone actually stole my debit card once and used it in different stores immediately, notified my bank right away and was refunded my money back after investigating.

Glad we all got perfect scores in the session discussion. kinda enjoyed the encryption discussion! Founder of Wikipedia working on issues about students using his site for references in school.

Getting worked out since I'm working on two research papers at the moment as well as group research project, I guess that's the real deal of Grad School. well I should be okay as long as I got my Time Management Skills "going on"

Wasn't surprised Jennifer Hudson got an Oscar for the dreamgirls movie. she was an awesome singer and actress! oops! outfit was not to cool according to the Hollywood fashion!

Reflections on Session 4

Well got some insights of issues and challenges of RFID tags after the great discussion session. Real disappointed that Dell received massive, undisclosed end-of-quarter rebate payments from Intel in exchange for Dell's agreement not to ship any computers using AMD microprocessors.
Zillow's real estate sit was kinda cool but as it flaws! from a real estate point of view, Great Database! though


Got an extra day weekend on Monday Martin Luther King, loved the Tyler Perry' s Daddy's little girl movie I saw over the weekend. The violence in this movie is what real life is like. Gabrielle Union is one of my favorite actress and she was one of the cast in the movie.
ops! got some car issues, fixed my muffler, one of those unexpected expenses, oh well got to live with that!

Reflections on Session 3

For Session 3,
I had an opportunity to create a mini project on the next telecom generation device which was a pocket laptop. Had some more insights to discussion on VoIP and IPv6 .
Webtycho was kind of down( due to system upgrade) for a couple of days during this session and we had a new deadline till the 14Th.
Snowy Valentine!!, never had one before, well it was kind of cool in a way cause I didn't have to be at work (like my boss said) despite the fact that Federal Govt was 2 hours late with unscheduled leave, and my evening class was cancelled.
Well, I'm now very comfortable with the blog posting idea and I'm loving it!!

Reflections on 2nd week.

Session 2 was kinda interesting, the fictional diaries from my class members were very imaginative! Had some interesting discussion on how computers reduce and improve productivity and keeping up with storage requirements.

As far as current events, Upgrading to Vista may result in the inability to play songs purchased from the online iTunes store; a lot of other problems 'may corrupt your iPod,' Apple warns. watch out before upgrading, waiting for the MS Vista Service Pack 1 would be advisable.

Well, I got an upgrade to my digital camera as a birthday present, used to have the 3.2 canon, now I have the 7.2 Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T30

Reflections on Sessions 1

This class seems to be fun, informative, and challenging. The assignments in this class enable me to know the currents events in IT field. My team mates represent broad range of people with different major such as accounting, business, and finance as well as different background.

It’s my 24th birthday today; having a good day and thanking God for me making me see this day, even though it’s a long day for me, I would be at work till 5pm and have another class this evening till 10pm , would celebrate myself more over the weekend.

Microsoft video vista is the latest this week, hopefully, should be useful to the society and organizations. Security flaws are being investigated. Another current IT is the unveil new chip technology produced by IBM and Intel that allows chip to be more powerful and smaller.

Introduction

I am Adenike Talabi, please call me Nikki. I am originally from Nigeria; I graduated from Morgan State University with a B.S in Information Systems & Sciences in May 05, currently working for Lockheed Martin contracting for the HQ Army Material Command in VA. My goal is to get a Master’s degree in Computer Systems Management with a track in Information Assurance. My hobbies are surfing the web, singing, listening to music, bowling, shooting pool, reading and so on, and then most of all going to church.
